The ZMC-2 Could Possibly be the Ultimate Dieselpunk Aircraft

It's big, shiny and existed during part of the art deco period.
This is the ZMC-2 - Zeppelin Metal Clad - 200,000 ft. capacity.

You did read that right - it's a "metal clad" dirigible, made entirely out of a highly
corrosion resistant aluminum called "Alclad" - even the envelope(the "balloon" that holds
the gas). This has the advantage of having less gas diffusion than fabric covered dirigibles
- helium was thin enough to actually pass through thin materials. To construct it, they
used a special machine that riveted strips of the Alclad together with air tight seals.
Two machines worked at the same time, one starting at the front, the other at the back.
Once done, it measured about 52 feet in diameter and 150 feet long and used about 3.5 million
rivets to hold it all together.

Although there was three other attempts at making metal clad airships/blimps, the ZMC-2 was
the only successful one, flying from 1929 to 1941, with a total of 752 flights and 2265 hours.

Now, just imagine it with an art deco cabin and fins, with all the aluminum polished up.
